After 10 years of service, split between Active Duty and The Guard, it was a struggle to adjust to life in the real world. There was almost no sense of camaraderie anywhere. Bills and debt piled up so there was plenty of stress, anxiety and sleepless nights. Then I found out about Overseas Contracting. It took 5 months and hours of daily grind to finally get my foot in the door. And once I did get there, I learned I was as green as could be. Even worse, I was terrified of someone finding out just how clueless I was. I had serious “imposter syndrome” issues due to being so ignorant. I knew they’d fire me if they knew just how little I understood of that world. That daily fear made my first stint as a contractor tough.
That said, it doesn’t have to be difficult for you too. You don’t have to make all the common mistakes because I’ve made them for you already and I’ll help you avoid them. I worked hard for 12 years as an Overseas Contractor and went from naïve FNG to skilled analyst to high level contracts oversight. During that time, over and over, I was asked by servicemen how I did it… how did I transition from low-paid enlisted guy to high-paid contractor? Eventually I got the idea to build a condensed course to share the best of everything I had learned along the way: the companies, the countries, the processes, the unwritten rules, etc. That way people wouldn’t have to learn from the school of hard knocks like I did. No one else teaches this, which is exactly why I do.
Military Contractor Academy is dedicated to helping veterans land Overseas Jobs and become financially free. It’s an opportunity to use your military background to earn 6-figures and change your life… and have some amazing adventures along the way.
